020314_PA_BANNER_SH_ALEXANDRE_BIRMANAlexandre Birman is the ultimate shoe dream-weaver. His Fall 2014 collection says as much. Drawing on his Brazillian heritage, Birman went with a cobogos motif this season, something often used by Brazillian architects back in the day. His inspiration resulted in striking laser-cut embellishment, particularly on the stand-out black ankle boots, covered in white python latticework, mimicking lace. That wasn’t the only trend Birman extended his hand to. Fringe also made a welcome appearance, namely on the back of taupe suede booties, also adorned with an intricate, delicate crochet panel. It wasn’t overkill, but rather, just right. Of course, the collection wasn’t just about trends and architecture. In the Birman trademark style, there was plenty of simple femininity. Our fave? The brand’s iconic Clarita shoe – a minimal velvet sandal, with a soft tie-bow around the ankle, in blush or burgundy. We’ll take both!
